What should I include in a letter to a place I would like to go for work experience?
ABC asked:
They don’t advertise positions but I would like to ask if they would be interested, Its a vet surgery in a town. How can I go about asking if they would take me for work experience?

The most important question will be is what will you contribute to the business. Do you have special schooling or do you do a procedure that will benefit them if they hire you. You could offer to work for free. Kind of an apprenticeship that your pay will be work experience. I’m thinking they probably won’t go with that because of insurance purposes, but it couldn’t hurt to ask. Good luck.

Do you mean without pay? I think that might not be legal. Do you have a professor or teacher in the vet college you are going to, or have gone to? Perhaps check with them about what is customary. I just think the labor board would not allow them to take an apprentice without pay, but I’m not in the field.
